Practice for the theory test for moped

Practice with realistic theory tests that are designed in the same way as the real tests at the Norwegian Public Roads Administration, while also reading the curriculum. Teoria has exercises created specifically for class AM146 in accordance with the current syllabus. Focus on topics such as right of way, road signs, road positioning, and traffic rules that apply specifically to mopeds.

AM146 entitles you to ride a two-wheeled moped as well as a moped with three or four wheels with an unladen weight of up to 150 kg. AM147 entitles you to ride a moped with three or four wheels regardless of unladen weight, including moped cars. These are two separate license categories, each with their own training and theory test. If you hold a class B, A2, or A license, you automatically receive both categories.

You can get a moped license from the age of 16. Training can begin from the age of 15. To take the theory test, you must have turned 16 and completed mandatory traffic training.

The moped theory test (class AM146) consists of 30 questions. To pass, you must answer at least 25 correctly, meaning you can have a maximum of 5 wrong answers. You have 60 minutes available.

The theory test at the Norwegian Public Roads Administration (Statens vegvesen) costs 480 NOK. The total cost of a moped license is usually between 8,000 and 12,000 NOK, depending on the driving school and the need for extra driving lessons. To begin training, you must have completed a basic traffic course.

If you fail, you must wait at least two weeks before you can retake the test. You must pay a new fee for each attempt. Almost half of all candidates fail the moped theory test, so it pays to practice thoroughly beforehand.

Yes. If you hold a class B license (passenger car), you automatically have the right to ride a two-wheeled moped (AM146). You do not need to obtain a separate moped license in addition.
