What is Teoria?

Teoria is a digital learning platform that helps you prepare for the theory test. You can register yourself or gain access through your driving school.

What information do we collect?

From you at registration:

• Name
• Phone number
• Date of birth
• Address

From your driving school at purchase:

• Phone number, access duration and certificate class

We link the access from the driving school to your account based on matching phone number.

Automatically during use:

• Usage data: time spent in the service, questions answered, results and progress
• Technical data: IP address, browser type and device information

Login and registration

You register yourself via Vipps or SMS. When using these services, their respective privacy notices also apply.

Why do we collect the information?

We process personal data to:

• Provide you access to the service and manage your account (legal basis: contract, GDPR art. 6(1)(b))
• Customise and improve your learning experience (legal basis: legitimate interest, GDPR art. 6(1)(f))
• Fulfil legal obligations (legal basis: legal obligation, GDPR art. 6(1)(c))

Cookies

We use cookies to improve performance and user experience. When you visit Teoria, you can choose which categories of cookies you accept. You can change your preferences at any time via the cookie settings on the website.

Sharing of information

We never sell your personal data. We share information only with:

• Subcontractors who process data on our behalf (e.g. cloud storage, authentication), subject to data processing agreements
• Your driving school, if you are registered through a school
• Authorities, where required by law

Storage and security

Your data is stored on secure servers within the EU/EEA. We use encryption and access controls to protect your data against unauthorised access.

We retain your data as long as you have an active account, and delete it within a reasonable time after the account is closed.

Your rights

You have the right to:

• Access the information we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate information
• Delete your account and associated data
• Object to our processing
• Receive your data in a machine-readable format (data portability)

To exercise your rights or delete your account, contact us at hei@teoria.no.

You also have the right to complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet) if you believe we process your personal data in violation of the regulations.
